The first K-Drama I ever watched, this is a classic for anyone who loves cheesy romance. This contains all of the classic tropes, such as rich guy falling for a poor girl, a disapproving mother in law, awkward open eyed kisses, and body swapping. This series is impossible to not binge watch, each episode leaving the viewer on a cliff hanger wanting more. The story is hilarious and misguided at first, but as the characters start to fall for each the story becomes more emotional and tear jerking. The characters find out how they are connected and why the leading male has a fear of enclosed spacing, stemming from him getting trapped in an elevator during a fire. The lead females father was a fire fighter and saved him, but dying during the rescue. This connects the two leads in a way they would have never imagined, and in the end, despite the mother in laws displeasure, the two end up happily together. There is also a comic relief character who is faced with getting older and slowly being pushed out of relevance for his famous lifestyle. This is a good introduction to Korean dramas for any who don’t know them well, and will remain a staple in setting the stage for the Hallyu wave.
