Director Ang Lee's "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" serves as one of the best early 2000 martial arts movies. The movie itself is both dramatic and fantastical. It is so exhilarating that it stirred attention from even the hardy, hesitant audience members. I think what made this martial arts movie stand apart from the others was its focus on personal excellence rather than fight scenes. And when there are fight scenes, the main focus is on the power of unity. The movie is utterly glorious and shameless and I was shocked to feel so touched after watching it.
