God contacts Congressman Evan Baxter and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood.
A weak follow up to an iconic Bruce Almighty film! This film was made purely to continue this unique concept and exemplify new special fx tricks, unfortunately. This film could have been much funnier with a cast like this, but unfortunately it pales in comparison to its predecessor which had much more heart!
"Evan Almighty" was set out to be a wave of comical genius that was surfed by Steve Carell. The special effects paired with the image of Morgan Freeman as God is absolutely magical. It may not be the funniest comedy of the century but it is a very fun film to watch with friends and family. The gags are cartoonish. The re-telling of Bible stories, as far as they go, was actually very entertaining for me to watch!
I really enjoyed this film! It's all about how Evan, a newly elected statesman, gets a message from God that he needs to build a boat since a flood is coming. Ignoring God's messages, he sets about his normal buisness. However, when he wakes up the next morning, he has a full white beard and long hair carrying a staff and dressed in robes. It's such a fun film for the whole family!
As someone who has heard the Noah and the Ark story growing up, I feel like I need to see how this story was turned into a modern film. Steve Carell playing a father who is asked by God to build an ark and gather up all the animals in it is a film I feel obligated to watch and judge.
