1918년, 1차 세계 대전 후반. 연합군은 독일군이 철수하고 난 후 남겨진 지하 벙커를 조사한다. 같은 시각, 독일군은 생화학 실험을 자행했던 이곳의 흔적을 없애려 돌아왔다가 연합군과 마주친다. 어쩔 수 없이 함께 벙커를 파괴하기로 합의한 연합군과 독일군은 지하 벙커 깊숙한 곳으로 들어가게 되고, 그 속에서 치명적인 기생충에 감염되어 미쳐버린 패잔병들을 마주하는데… 지하 23미터, 생존을 위한 사투가 시작된다.

France 1918, 78 feet underground is where our story begins for our characters and their introduction to the scene. Now, we have tasty visual effects happening, and this promises to be visually appealing. The realization of what they've gotten themselves into is coming to light, and it's rather unpleasant and beautifully hideous. This is really fun and intriguing sci-fi WWI, and it's just a blast to see the madness of it all unfolding. The film shows the lengths an aggressor will go to, and it's to validate their ideology. The worst part about the premise of the film is that the opposition isn't the only force willing to violate all sense of human decency.
