starting a Ranked X-Men list whilst watching them in chronological order.
a bit unfair to start with First Class cause i feel it's a very complete delivery, perhaps because the franchise (and Marvel in general) already had so much experience with previous films.
definitely the highlight of this is Fassbender, almost to the point of wanting a stand-alone Origins: Magneto story instead of a "bigger" story with Xavier.
Again, a very complete film, good plot, not so good script and pretty decent side characters. The best pay-offs and set pieces of course are those of Erik's arc, and the beach scene is just the epitome of broken bromance.
Shot choices were not the best at times, and some performances were just straight up not believable (e.g.: Jennifer Lawrence's during the attack to HQ and Kevin Bacon almost all along.)
This is the first X-Men movie that I thoroughly enjoyed. That might be because I am a big fan of origin stories, specially ones that deal with teenagers and young adults. It was really cool to see the characters come together (and that Wolverine cameo makes the whole movie). The cast work together brilliantly to make the X-Men come to life. It is also cool to see Magnito and Professor X working together. Their friendship is so amazingly complex, I love it!
