"Ice Age" is a family friendly animation with characters who you will fall in love with the second you meet them! To set a children's adventure-packed comedy during a historical era is very clever to me; it is a way to introduce children to pivotal past events on Earth without boring them as if it were a lecture. You cannot deny that the best part of the entire franchise is Sid The Sloth; what a character! He is so lovable for being so silly and hyper. His attitude paired with the calm, cool and collected Manny and Diego made the perfect trio of infectious characters to lead this movie to great expectations.

The original and first in the franchise of all the Ice Age films is one of my favourites since it really sets the tone for the following films, and I think is definitely more emotional than the others. This unlikely pack of friends is thrown together in a strange situation, and of course they all hate each other at the beginning because they don't understand each other. However, as the film progresses, and they learn more about each other, they form a friendship. It is also quite a funny movie, and I enjoy the strange little character that is the squirrel that features throughout the other fills as well.

This is a cute children's movie. When I was a kid I absolutely loved this movie, but watching as an adult it's not as good as I remember. It is still good though, and worth the watch. It's a good adventure story that brings unlikely characters together. Also the squirrel characters makes the whole film, he is so funny!
