This film was hilarious! Not only did it play on a lot of tropes that Ryan Reynolds likes to use in his movies, but it also had hidden jokes for those people well-versed in game development and programming, which tickled my funny bone. This movie is an incredible success, and although it doesn’t play into a sequel, I would like more films like this. Nothing about any of the individual components of the movie itself is leaps and bounds beyond the industry. Together, however, each piece works perfectly against the others. Between the casting, set direction, musical score, and writing, this is a laugh-out-loud title that makes you think a little deeper about the nature of sentience.
