This show is the “Twilight Zone” of the 21st century. It is often described as the events of tomorrow, not the distant future. I believe that is a fair statement as it deals with themes and storylines that, although might be hyperbolized and seem far fetched, are actually super relevant to the issues of today. Often times while watching “Black Mirror” I will feel uneasy, not because of the content, but because of how easily I can see some of the events in the show happening within the next fifty years, sometimes even less than ten years. THAT is why this show is brilliant. Because it shows you realities that could happen and they’re absolutely terrifying. It doesn’t use cheap tricks to scare and disturb you. It takes life and throws it back in your face. And there is nothing scarier than that.
