Dogville
I’ve always been interested in fusion of film and book or film and theater. I think it’s really hard to make theater blend in film work, and this one works. I believe it’s the way that the director is telling a story and the content of the story make this format works. The audience view this story as god. The whole way the story is depicted, isolated town (literally isolated), only these handful of people, exist through the whole film, make this feels like a fable, a bible story. I really enjoy seeing this successful and intentional blend of theater and book and film. At first I really dislike the super shaky hand held feel, but now I feel it makes us one of them, living in the story, being present there, have a god view over the town. 性本恶,一切都需要教育。
