The Farewell

The Farewell is a movie that means something. It has a consistent emotional weight that is often accompanied by a little bit of welcomed comedy. Lulu Wang crafts one of the most personal and touching movies of the year in such a beautiful way. The cast brings her story to life so well too as every performance is so well done. Awkwafina as the lead role is a much more somber character than we are used to but this is her best performance to date. It’s a beautiful movie of substance, something that can be hard to find in the watered down, money targeted cinema world.
