The first season of CBS's "The Mentalist" with its plot and set up was far from originality. However, the television series was somehow able to set itself apart in some way with our main protagonist Patrick Jane - a man with talents almost too good to be true. Although the stories feel predictable and rushed. Audiences will find themselves realising that they have seen nearly every single episode before in the likes of CSI or Criminal Minds.
