Tom Hanks gives such a powerful performance in this really heavy headed film about capital punishment and imprisonment.I remember seeing this as a kid, and it might’ve been one of the first films that impacted me and made me really cry heavily. The film has elements of the supernatural in it which I think is interesting and ultimately makes it a better film.

The Green Mile was the first movie that I watched Tom Hanks in after only knowing him as the fabulous voice actor for Woody from Toy Story. Acting as a death-row prison card highlighted the versatility Hanks' has to offer to cinematic pictures, bringing powerful complexity to his role. I must say, The Green Mile left an amazing impression on me. The dramatic plot is memorizing and dark, touching upon subjects, sensitive and unfortunately common in our reality with elements of racism and the unjustly treatment towards characters. Director, Frank Darabont was completely faithful to Stephen King's book and for this, I cannot help but give such a high rating.

A classic from childhood and something that both the lead actors are very much remembered for. It was gone in an era when a lot of these “YT folk mistreating + helping minorities” heart tigger movies were common. It’s a trope and a way of storytelling that would actually take a lot of flak in the present day I think.

A mysterious film, with some very touching moments. Micheal Duncan Clarke is giving his best performance in this film. Not to detract anything from the rest of the cast, who are also doing a perfectly fine job. It really tucks on your heartstrings and really makes you wonder when it is done.

Get some tissues if you are gonna watch this film, because I need some just thinking about it. Another Stephan King novel brilliantly brought to life! With so much tragedy and happiness I one film it's hard to know what to while watching. For sure add to your quo this instant!
