Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

This was a creative take on the giant monster film. Although I felt the first person perspective of the movie to be a bit jarring at times, overall it worked and provided an interesting perspective for the viewer. The movie’s subject matter and vague references to the central antagonist was orchestrated perfectly. It kept it if you were guessing and wondering what was the next piece to be revealed.

My ultimate favorite found footage/monster film hybrid. I feel like this film and Blair Witch Project set the bar super high early on with their incredibly creative original takes on their respective genres. The found footage film is now prevalently used in horror films due to the successes of these groundbreaking films. This one is like a better War of the Worlds, where you feel like you’re on the ground escaping the city. I’ve never felt more anxious.

사실같은 현장감은 둘째치고, 흔한 괴물나오는 영화의 엔딩이 아님!!

I usually do not enjoy hand held camera style films, but this one is a huge exception.

Quite an entertaining movie. The first half is very engaging, but it gets predictable after a while and you may get tired of the shooting mode. In any ways, it is nice to watch it with a couple of friends

This movie helped remind us of a genre of film that was almost forgotten. The found footage film actually makes sense in this context and works wonders. It is a very tense film and smart in just how little it actually shows the audience. Characters are forgettable though, and it doesn't have an interesting story besides just surviving. I really enjoyed it, but it definitely has its flaws.
