I have always found "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" to be one of the most underrated and hidden gems in the Disney world. The soundtrack showcases the talents of Alan Menken and is perfectly created, dancing together in beautiful rhythm to fit the plot and the characters. The movie adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel is rich in both groundbreaking visuals and special effects as well as being one of the greatest musical sensations that Disney has ever achieved. "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" truly tested Disney's boundaries by touching upon sensitive subjects for a movie that appeared to be aimed for younger children. However, I have found the movie to be perfectly scripted for all age groups. The animation brings attention to concepts such as the physical notion of a "monster" and the true inner mentality of a monster. Definitely one of my favourites! AND JUSTICE FOR ESMERALDA - SHE DESERVES THE SAME RECOGNITION AS DISNEY PRINCESSES.

It's a sweet story of acceptance and making one's own way, but I wouldn't say that this movie was as much of a masterpiece as Disney's other creations. It just didn't capture me as much. Younger audiences might like it more, but I'm not sure I would show this to young kids as it does have some pretty dark parts.

A must watch movie that focuses on a hunchback named Quasimodo. He is isolated due to his “ugly” face but he befriends a girl named Esmeralda. But as soon as they become friends, obstacles appear to be keeping them apart.

When I watched this film I honestly couldn’t believe it was a kid’s movie, let alone a Disney film! The themes are so dark and there are many scenes that are downright disturbing. As a children’s movie it might be too much, but as a regular movie it is brilliant. It deals with so many human elements. It shows that what is inside counts most. The movie often goes into the corrupt aspect of religion which is so gutsy for a Disney movie! I was completely blown away by this movie and you will be too. It is one of the most underrated Disney films ever.
