As cute as the chipmunks look, they were clearly not meant to be ongoing stars. Kids may still enjoy the movie, but anyone old enough to realize that there is no plot line to speak of will have a hard time sitting through this. The chipmunks' voices are still as annoying as ever.

It was a cute movie but I think they should’ve left it with the previous one. Alvin and the chipmunks go on another adventure but this time on board a ship and run into some trouble like always!

Although I have never watched this movie, after reading the overview I feel like this would be a very good movie because it shows the exploration of the alvin and the chipmunk. Normally these animals are contained but now their released in the wild.
