I absolutely adored the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon television series as a child so I got overly excited for the big hype in 2014 that was the reveal of the movie adaptation of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." I just felt there was too much use of special effects and even the adorable Michael-Angelo could not save the terrible script with awful dad jokes and puns. I will admit that the film tried to portray the iconic foursome (with a strange but relatable addiction to pizza) and their very distinctive personalities; the leader Leonardo, the naive Michael-Angelo, the rugged Raphael and the intellect Donatello. I just felt there was too must focus on the human actors and this movie just felt like an excuse to typecast Megan Fox after her success with the "Transformers" franchise.

I did not like this movie for a lot of reasons. For one, the turtles themselves looked like something out of a horror movie. Second, the plot was just not that interesting; the dialogue is dry and there is not much development. It is no longer a funny cartoon for children but a movie that takes everything that made TMNT what it was.

It just seems that director Michael Bay is on a losing streak with his most recent movies.. Viewers already have expectations from the past Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and this movie just disappoints all of the expectations I had from my memories of this franchise.

I don’t know what I was expecting when I saw this movie. A good movie maybe? Well it really wasn’t. The plot made absolutely no sense!! Especially April’s character as a whole. I have no idea how or why anything happened the way it did. It was just so stupid. Maybe if I grew up watching the Mutant Ninja Turtles I would have liked it more? Probably not though cause a plot that makes no sense is still a plot that makes no sense, no matter how you feel about the characters.
