A pretty basic shark movie to be honest.. nothing very special. However, this is probably the first shark movie since Jaws to actually become popular. I’m not sure why because it seemed pretty basic to me- lots of suspense but everyone already can guess the ending.

I felt that the Meg was an absolute disappointment of a shark movie. The Meg should have been an omage to the classic Jaws, however, it just left the memory of Jaws and shark movies in a corner of shame and cringiness. Jason Statham must have been paid a lot to participate in one of the greatest cinematic let downs of 2018.
