Young Shakespeare is forced to stage his latest comedy, "Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter," before it's even written. When a lovely noblewoman auditions for a role, they fall into forbidden love -- and his play finds a new life (and title). As their relationship progresses, Shakespeare's comedy soon transforms into tragedy.

This romantic adventure truly brought the drama from William Shakespeare's plays to his life as the plot follows him and his lover. I actually really enjoyed "Shakespeare in Love" and I found it to be a concept that, on paper, I was initially hesitant about but soon grew to love. The movie itself is impressive and exquisite and there is no doubt that the audience get to see a stunning image of the theater and the nuanced portrait of life during the Elizabethan era. A must watch for any Literature fanatic.

I personally really love this movie. It is completely historically inaccurate, but that is besides the point. It shows an interesting take on a well known figure, William Shakespeare. The love story is also very sweet and complex, making it entertaining to watch. The only thing that kind of tarnishes this movie for me is that it won a bunch of Oscars that it didn't deserve. It's a good movie, but it's not that good.
