Pro quarter-back, Paul Crewe and former college champion and coach, Nate Scarboro are doing time in the same prison. Asked to put together a team of inmates to take on the guards, Crewe enlists the help of Scarboro to coach the inmates to victory in a football game 'fixed' to turn out quite another way.

This movie is ok. I wasn't as moved by it as I expected to be (I'd heard about the title several times before watching the movie). Then I realized that it was a remake, so I'm guessing (hoping?) the original was better. This one just didn't do much for me.

I’m not the hugest fan of Adam Sandler, I find the comedies he stars in more cheap and low quality humor. I found interest in “The Longest Yard” because I’ve heard it is one of Sandler’s best films.

It's probably more historically important than it is a masterpiece (the last 20 minutes take the missed connections and misunderstandings an inch too far), but it's still very easy to fall in love with.

Adam Sandler makes a lot of comedy movies and many are just average or below average however this film is the exception and one his better performances. This movie is a remake however and was not executed as well as the original film was
