AT 필드의 붕괴로 하나의 개체로 환원된 인간의 완벽함은 그 허울로서 존재할 뿐이다. 인간의 취약성으로 인한 상대에게로의 의존과 그로부터의 상처, 그리고 사랑은 인간이 불완전함에도 아름다운 이유이자 인간 존재의 목적이다. 에반게리온은 타인과의 상호작용으로부터 얻을 수 있는 무한한 상처에도 불구하고 이의 아름다움과 타인에 대한 사랑의 이행이라는 실천 방향성을 제시해준다는 점에서 매우 감명깊다.
