On 15 January 2009, the world witnessed the 'Miracle on the Hudson' when Captain 'Sully' Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and career.

I enjoyed this movie, although there was nothing spectacular about it. The directing was good, the acting incredible (as usual with Hanks), but I found the main conflict of the film to be lacking. It didn't really seem like it would be that big of a deal. What could they really do to Sully? He was considered a hero to many and saved those people's lives, whether he could have landed the plane or not. But the story was interesting besides that. It was cool to see how his life was after the rescue and his internal turmoil.

This movie is good first and foremost because it is a story worth of the attention it receives. Going into this movie knowing the true story on which it is based is important to truly appreciate what you will see. It's an inspiring movie that delivers important messages.

Sully is such a well-made movie and the overall cinematography is fantastic. The film provides one of the best examples ever of the duality of hero worship and intense scrutiny, and how a person can be a hero by simply doing their job. I would highly recommend this movie.
