This is just a solid Spielberg film. I mean, when you have Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, and Spielberg all in the same film it’s a guaranteed success. This movie is like classical art. It is refined and sophisticated and pleasant to look at. Everything about it screams “nominate me for an Oscar” and although it didn’t deserve to win anything, it definitely deserved to be nominated. It is a very smart film with stellar performances. Add this to the already long list of good Spielberg films.
