In year 1250 B.C. during the late Bronze age, two emerging nations begin to clash. Paris, the Trojan prince, convinces Helen, Queen of Sparta, to leave her husband Menelaus, and sail with him back to Troy. After Menelaus finds out that his wife was taken by the Trojans, he asks his brother Agamemnom to help him get her back. Agamemnon sees this as an opportunity for power. So they set off with 1,000 ships holding 50,000 Greeks to Troy. With the help of Achilles, the Greeks are able to fight the never before defeated Trojans.

At first I used to despise this film because it seemed like it was trying to be bigger and more flashy than it needed to be. Eventually i grew to appreciate the epic scale this film required. Ridley Scott is an experienced director doing things far more challenging than most and it is best exemplified in Troy where he gathered some of the world’s biggest actors to help tell a story that isn’t super popular or marketable to western audiences. Some of the actions scenes are really well designed and constructed. The story and dialogue itself sort of loses importance to me because I’m sure we are all familiar with it. The set pieces are quite remarkable though.

It may not be entirely loyal to the epic story of Troy, yet it manages to be a thrilling production displaying action, relationships and war. The cast is very good, with amazing filming locations as well. Whoever decides to watch this movie will definitely have a good time

I added this film to my watchlist because damn it looks exciting. I have seen most films that ate place in similar eras; I have found most of them fun and thrilling. I cannot totally judge it by its bio, but it seems like it will be an exciting and enjoyable one.

If you don’t know much about the city of Troy then this film may be a bit confusing for you but overall the action scenes were great and for the earlier 2000s they did a great job with it! I wouldn’t really watch this again unless the opportunity pops up and I have nothing to do!
