For sure, director Antoine Fuqua's crime thriller "Training Day" is worthly of its title and label. The fabulous actor Denzel Washington has a particular poise and controlled energy, making his performance thrive off of tremendous power with his graceful coolness. This is definitely an intriguing and abstract portrayal of a hero. The crime drama flows along an intelligent course and is definitely a must watch if you enjoy this genre.

This film raised me, in a way. The dynamic between Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington is impeccable. The rookie cop being thrown into the deep end on his first day is classic storytelling. He’s forced to learn how to swim in a corrupt world, something he didn’t sign up for and is forced to grow up quickly. Denzel won an Oscar for this performance, notably his speech at the end which I can quote start to finish!

Denzel Washington plays the role of a veteran cop who is showing the ropes to a rookie cop he was paired up with. The movie deals a lot with the violence and corruption that can be seen in police districts around the world. The story is very interesting and well worth the watch.
