끊임없이 되뇌여온 그 질문, '고난의 순간에 당신은 왜 침묵하시나요'. 나는 진정으로 진리를 위해 고난을 겪을 각오가 되어있는가

it wasn't as boring as it was made out to be, even when i'm a atheist... (i' obviously biased because i like Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver, and Scorsese is my favorite director.) in fact I think this is one of the top notch movies from Scorsese. translated the novel to screen impeccably, and i really loved the way they used (or not used) "sound" here. you may not enjoy this film but it's without a doubt a very well-made one.

Silence does what heaps of religious propaganda movies around the world couldn't do. Not disingenuously defend its faith but, put it into hardest of trails, kill it and rise up from the dead again. Shows the inherent problem with christian missions yet, invites you closer to its faith. May not turn you christian but will definitely offer one of the most compelling argument cinema ever had to offer.

신의 침묵은 침묵인가, 동행인가.
