This movie has gotten somewhat of a critical reevaluation over the last few years, so I might have to watch it again, but from what I remember its alright. The mystery is pretty interesting, but the mediocre acting and bizarre ending just left satisfied. To me it isn't a masterpiece, but who knows, I might have to watch it again.

I remember begging my parents to let me watch this movie. The trailer was completely captivating and I thought it had to be the coolest movie to ever come out. Once I finally got my family to let me watch it, the movie was a bit of a let down. It's kind of cool but some of it is a bit ridiculous. Not only that but it is so incredibly depressing. There is no way to leave this movie in a happy mood. Don't even try.

A film i used to like as a kid and then later didn’t like as much. Still some very interesting concepts in this about extraterrestrial life and things that may happen for some greater purpose really intrigued me. The whole discovery-adventure process where you feel that you are on this journey with Nicholas Cage discovering fact after fact is the best part of this ride. Only when you step back do you realize some of it is a bit silly.
