I have a soft spot for anything Ghostbusters related. I grew up on those movies, the videogame, the tv show, comics, etc. and the only reason I didn't rate this lower is because I have such a soft spot for Ghostbusters. There are parts of this movie that ARE funny, but most of the time the comedy just misses over and over. It's not witty humor like in Ghostbusters, and is just mostly shitty jokes or loud = funny.

Honestly, I was really excited for the new adaptation of the classic Ghostbusters, however I just could not find myself to love it (despite being such a huge Kate McKinnon fan!) It was the humour that let me down to be honest, rather than the actresses themselves. I think the great actresses were robbed to show their potential with such a weak script and overuse of CGI. Also, seriously, why was Chris Hemsworth there? I love him but he felt unnecessary...

I was a bit confused when they announced the remake of Ghostbustsers. The original is good on its own and found it a bit useless to remake an already great film. I thought it was great that the movie featured an all-female cast, but I still prefer the original version.

Honestly, although characters and acting were fairly good, story-line is not as strong as you expected. However, this movie is meaningful, as they tried to change socially expected gender roles. As you may know, young girls realized that they can be ghostbusters too after this movie has released. You would enjoy more if you look for sarcastic jokes about typical gender roles in other movies.

I have to say, this remake was not as good as the first time around. The movie was funny in some parts but the story line was not engaging and nothing really stood out. The actors, I thought, portrayed their characters very well but all together, it was a movie that was lacking.
