With friends like these, who needs enemies? That's the question bad guy Porter is left asking after his wife and partner steal his heist money and leave him for dead -- or so they think. Five months and an endless reservoir of bitterness later, Porter's partners and the crooked cops on his tail learn how bad payback can be.

Although I have never watched this movie, after reading the overview I feel like this would be a very good movie because it involves revenge. One of human's strongest emotion and the one that drives us to do crazy things and by watching someone's revenge its oddly satisfying.

Easily one of Gibson's best, and one of the best of its kind you will ever see. This film rarely lets up on the intensity, and gets better as it goes along. It will make you laugh and cringe at the same time, but you won't want to take your eyes off the screen for a second. It looks good, feels good, and oozes class. Definitely a must-see.

The story is about one man's struggle for revenge on his friend and wife who have betrayed him. His new neighborhood is filled with gangsters and prostitution - not to mention the corrupt police force. The action movie that comes out of this setting is not extraordinarily original, but it might be ok to just watch it lightly.

Payback? We are told that sometimes the ones who try to hard to get payback for being wronged ends up hurting them. From what I got from the Rotten Tomatoes critic reviews, the payback is lacking. Mel Gibson is still praised for his acting, but the film is described as a less interesting than other action filmsbeforethem; such as "Lethal Weapon" or "Die Hard". I added it to my watchlist because though it seems to lack originality, I'm open to light hearted thrilling entertainment.
