I read an article where Edward Norton said this is one of the few films that holds up today and stands the test of time. Unfortunately I had to disagree. I did enjoy MOMENTS of this film but overall found that the dialogue and romance between Meryl Streep’s character and Robert Redford’s character grew dreary in the film’s first third. I appreciated the fact that Streep’s role seemed to have required a lot of work for her to master her accent, but overall the film was not very memorable or original in my opinion.

This is a really nice film and, of course, Meryl Streep is amazing in it. The story does kind of stretch out but I think it was worth it in the end if you are patient. The emotions are real and the story is heartfelt. And the setting, for sure, is absolutely gorgeous.
