This English-language adaptation of the Swedish novel by Stieg Larsson follows a disgraced journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, as he investigates the disappearance of a weary patriarch's niece from 40 years ago. He is aided by the pierced, tattooed, punk computer hacker named Lisbeth Salander. As they work together in the investigation, Blomkvist and Salander uncover immense corruption beyond anything they have ever imagined.

Loved the plot twists and turns, and the fact that the ending was not depressing as so many are. Did not appreciate the sexual violence that was very graphic.

This take on a classic whodunnit is woven with deep and impactful story arcs which left me thinking. The rating of R is well deserved as I watched this with a friend, not expecting such a European view of nudity and sexual content. The twists and turns of this film and the beautiful closure of many, if not all, arcs left me quite satisfied. I would highly recommend this film to anyone with profound intellect, a curious mind, and more artistic and liberal views on nudity.

I really enjoyed this film's take on the book. I am a massive fan of the book series, and I thought this film did a really good job of portraying it accurately, although I would recommend reading the book before watching the film. The film is very suspense-filled and I think Daniel Craig does a really good job acting in his role as one of the main characters.

After watching the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I went in to the remake with no thoughts coming in and not be thinking that it's going to suck because it's a remake. David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is just as amazing as the original, if not, better than it. They made the movie very different from the original, but still manage to create the same story which kudos to David Fincher and Steven Zaillian for knowing how to make a remake stand out on its own. The characters are just as memorable as the original, and it created the characters a bit differently too which I appreciated. Rooney Mara is outstanding in this and whether people would ask whether she's better or Noomi Repace, I have no idea because I think that they are equally excellent in it and they never seem to be acting the same

There is really no reason to watch this movie if you have already seen the original- but if you haven't seen the first one give this one a shot! It is slightly better and follows the book better than the first one, but is redundant if you've already seen the 2009 one.

This film is really good. I had first seen the Swedish films and knew that the American ones had some big shoes to fill. When I saw that David Fincher would direct this film, I knew the American ones would be better and it was. The acting from Rooney Mara is one of the best female performances in such a committed role. I hadn’t seen anything like it. The production, casting, and editing weaves a complicated dense story into a rollercoaster treasure hunt that we experience right with the characters.
