Nacho Libre is loosely based on the story of Fray Tormenta ("Friar Storm"), aka Rev. Sergio Gutierrez Benitez, a real-life Mexican Catholic priest who had a 23-year career as a masked luchador. He competed in order to support the orphanage he directed. The producers are Jack Black, David Klawans, Julia Pistor, and Mike White.

I watched Nacho Libre when I was little, but I don't remember much about it which probably isn't a good thing. I thought the movie was really boring as a child and nothing struck out to me. I was probably too young to understand the movie as a child, but I doubt as an adult now that the movie is any better.

Wasn’t as funny as I thought it would especially because Jack Black is great at adding humor to movies. Could’ve had a better plot line and more to the whole story itself. It wasn’t that special.

Though the concept of the film was interesting and Jack Black doesn't fail to add humor to the film; besides this it was not by any means a high quality film. It had its time of popularity, but the actual film has caused it to lose it fast.
