Carmen and Juni think their parents are boring. Little do they know that in their day, Gregorio and Ingrid Cortez were the top secret agents from their respective countries. They gave up that life to raise their children. Now, the disappearances of several of their old colleagues forces the Cortez' return from retirement. What they didn't count on was Carmen and Juni joining the "family business."

If you never watched the Spy Kids franchise when you were a kid, I really worry for your childhood, because they were a defining feature of mine. Two kids have no clue that both their parents are spies, but that soon changes when they both disappear. The kids have to defeat a villain by themselves with no adult help, and when they get to the island they find that none of their equipment works and they have to rely on their own intelligence to get them through. Although when I've watched it back, the special effects are very outdated, and the film is really meant for kids, so I'm not sure I'd recommend watching it if you're above the age of about 12.

The first spy kid series. This show gave kids dreams that they can always do whatever they want at whatever given age. Spy kids shows parkour kids doing super agility things.

Spy Kids is a classic spy movie for kids (as the name implies) and I remember so badly wanting to be a spy the first time I watched this. This is a great movie for kids and even holds some adult humor and concepts.

This is an interesting movie with an inventive plot and with creative, freaky, and alien-looking characters. Overall, the cinematography was lacking and I think the design of the characters were a bit too out there. But for the average kid, this movie can be a hit.
