Waterworld
1995 · Action · United States
2h 16m

In a futuristic world where the polar ice caps have melted and made Earth a liquid planet, a beautiful barmaid rescues a mutant seafarer from a floating island prison. They escape, along with her young charge, Enola, and sail off aboard his ship. But the trio soon becomes the target of a menacing pirate who covets the map to 'Dryland' – which is tattooed on Enola's back.

Personally, I don't think Waterworld is as bad as everyone thinks it is. There was enough action in this one to keep thriller buffs going all the way through. Dennis Hopper, as usual, was an effective villain; he kept me laughing all the way with his insane antics, and his stupid henchmen. Not a bad movie, really.

Although this movie is pretty old, I consider it a classical type of movie. It still draws you in with its thriller methods and it is still pretty interesting to even this date. I highly recommend this movie because it can give you a perspective that you won’t see nowadays.

Although this movie was met with a lot of criticism and negative press, I do not believe it is as bad as everyone thinks it is. The story is fairly entertaining and has many good points throughout the movie. I loved the entertaining adventure that the main characters embark on and the encounters with the villain.

"Waterworld" doesn't give off the best impression, and I've heard it lacks to entertain; but my friend told me she personally thought it kept up the thrills and it is a fun film worth watching. I just hope my friend is right.
