Greg Focker is ready to marry his girlfriend, Pam, but before he pops the question, he must win over her formidable father, humorless former CIA agent Jack Byrnes, at the wedding of Pam's sister. As Greg bends over backward to make a good impression, his visit to the Byrnes home turns into a hilarious series of disasters, and everything that can go wrong does, all under Jack's critical, hawklike gaze.

"Meet The Parents" captures one of the biggest fears of any man's nightmare, that the love of his life has a father who is beyond terrifying and brutal. Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller are insanely funny in this movie! The naive silliness of Stiller, paired with De Niro's role as a former CIA agent is the perfect duo. De Niro's character makes it unbelievably hard for Stiller's character to marry the daughter. In a chase and pursuit for permission, you cannot help but laugh at the antics that are brought about in this movie! A great beginning to a popular franchise that I wish was kept as a solo installment.

This is the first in the sequence of films following the life of Greg Focker. It is insanely funny, and every man's worst nightmare when he discovers that his girlfriend's father is a former CIA agent. He intends to propose to his girlfriend, but feels he needs the father's permission. Unfortunately this is difficult to obtain since the father doesn't like Greg and doesn't trust him, employing techniques to try and get Greg to leave his daughter. The situation is stressed even more with his girlfriend's sister's wedding just around the corner, so he must try to impress the entire family, which he finds incredibly difficult.

One of the most understated comedies in some time. Meet the Parents is relatable, funny, and original. It creates its own mini world of well developed characters that we know all too well. I still think about the pool volleyball season everytime I go play volleyball with friends.
