As I am not a huge lover of action movies with the prototypical, hyper-masculine protagonist, I could not find myself loving the Die Hard franchise, although I will provide Bruce Willis with credit for his acting skills. The stunts were pretty impressive but the story line felt a little predictable and boring.

The first in the series and my god is it glorious. Bruce Willis is a joy to watch. The now iconic scenes and dialogue, are just so well written. The action is hard-hitting, and violent, with people getting stabbed, hung etc. A revolutionary film, and yes, it is also a Christmas movie.
