I am not surprised at all that Schindler's List won the Academy Award For Best Picture in 1993 as it is powerful and impressive! I feel that this historically-based Holocaust movie was essential for a Western audience. The movie is beautifully crafted with subjects that are not dressed up. I also think Liam Neeson did a brilliant job as this was one of his major roles that launched him into the spotlight.
