A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world's original vampires: Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah. Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel, who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans. Klaus departed from the city after being chased down by his father Mikael, while it was being constructed and Marcel took charge. As Klaus has returned after many years, his ego has provoked him to become the king of the city. "Every King needs an heir" says Klaus, accepting the unborn child. The child is a first to be born to a hybrid and a werewolf.

Such a good show. It peaked my interest because after watching vampire diaries, I grew fond of the original family. I also liked that it is set in New Orleans, the source of a lot of witch magic and history. It had a lot of history in it that was tastefully done while focusing on the development of the original family through new, strong characters

The originals is a spin off the vampire diaries, regarding about the original vampires and how they came to be and their life prior to meeting belle. This series involve a lot of family problems between these ever-lasting vampires that can't die.

"The Originals" was introduced to the public in 2013. The television series was known to be the spin-off series to the hit US fantasy drama "The Vampire Diaries." The television show definitely had expectations and pleasantly, lived up to the expectations! As Klaus is one of my favourite characters from the franchise, I was beyond excited to follow his story. The TV show has been one of the best vampire programs in the past decade, reminding me of my love for the genre. I actually began to find the series more entertaining to watch compared to "The Vampire Diaries." The show is beautiful and emotional and very well executed by all members involved in the team that created this fantastic piece.
