2011 · ABC · Fantasy/Romance/Adventure

There is a town in Maine where every story book character you've ever known is trapped between two worlds, victims of a powerful curse. Only one knows the truth and only one can break the spell. Emma Swan is a 28-year-old bail bonds collector who has been supporting herself since she was abandoned as a baby. Things change for her when her son Henry, whom she abandoned years ago, finds her and asks for her help explaining that she is from a different world where she is Snow White's missing daughter.

The show is very cool and innocent at first, you think that it is going to be a cute and light show to watch but it transforms into something more than that. Regina and Henry represent opposite sides of the story which is brought to the surface by Emma. A binge worthy show!

The television series "Once Upon a Time" really appealed to me as a huge fan of fairytales! Bringing fairy tale characters into the real world can be a huge risk but I found this show completely inventive. Not only are the characters from fairy tales - the good and the evil - fleshed out, they are also portrayed by such a talented well-known cast such as Lana Maria Parrilla (The Evil Queen) and Robert Carlyle (Rumpelstiltskin). The ABC series is truly charming and fantastical; no one can help adoring our main protagonist, Emma Swan, who's coolness completely juxtaposes with the other bubbly female portrayals in the fantasy genre. The character Emma Swan brings a badass quality to the TV show.

I really enjoyed this TV show on Netflix. It was a very new idea that really appealed to me, despite the fact I'm not their target audience, being quite a bit older. It definitely has a strong fantasy element, but I really like how they put a modern-day twist on the storylines. Emma, a detective, finds herself in Storybrooke, a town that has some strange goings on. A little boy points out to her that all the people in the town are actually fairytale characters that don't remember who they are and have been transported to the human world. I don't think I'm describing it very well, but the series has a ton of drama between characters and is a much more realistic take on fairytales and classic fairytale characters.

Easily four stars for how creative and unique this show is, there arent really any quite like it. I've watched four seasons of this show and can say that it has kept me captivated all four seasons. Its a family and drama series and tells of a fantasy fairy-tale and modern world. Super interesting! Suitable for all ages. Recommended to binge watch on Netflix.

Very good show especially since I love Disney! At first I was confused but realized it’s all one book story book with a bunch of characters from stories back in the day. Love how each season brings in more characters and a whole new plot adding onto the previous seasons.

"Once Upon a Time" is a original creative ABC show. This show is everything a fairytale lover would enjoy; combining all the classic Disney princesses and fairytale characters such as Rumpelstiltskin in one magical land. Getting to watch these same characters living average lives in a alternate world just adds the amazing story line.
