一見平凡な会話を、可笑しさやシュールさ、時に深遠さを交えて描く、個性的なスタイルの映画監督、ホン・サンスの作品。今回はフランスの大女優イザベル・ユペールを迎え、韓国でフランス語の教師(自称)をしている女性の1日が描かれる。映画の細部がこだまするような、韻を踏むような物語と演出が印象的で、十八番である長回しの会話劇も、今回は英語が共通言語となることもあって独特なリズム感が楽しい。一方で、最後まで周囲を煙に巻くような主人公のキャラクターは、見方によっては掘り下げ不足な感じもした。
