ボカして撮ったり実験の側面が強い異才ハル・ハートリー監督作品。 「2000年に人類は滅亡する」というノストラダムスの予言のとおり、神の子であるイエス・キリストはマグダラのマリアを連れて黙示録を実行しようとしていた… という「終末」を、神や御使いや悪魔が進行役の少数パターンでお送りします。 初ハル・ハートリーだったんだけど、今までオシャレで意識高い系の作品群だと思ってスルーしちゃってたわ！（この映画はあらすじが尖った宗教色だったので見る気になった） ホドロフスキー系なら早よ言ってよね！ ハルハまた見ようぜ！ハルハ！
