This animation is based on the poem <The Night of Singing Stars> written by IM Hwa to mourn the death of LEE Sangchun. LEE was IM’s contemporary and a member of the Korean Federation of Proletarian Art who died at the young age of 28. He was an actor and artist who joined the movement for Korean independence at a young age, but he ended his own life under the repressive Japanese regime. Perhaps the reality of his story is reflected in the deaths of workers in the present day.
