Tokyo Story
I feel bad giving this movie a low grade when it's so meaningful. It illustrates the post-war in the canvas of an elderly couple and their mostly heartless (and busy) adult children. Japanese society is changing after the war, wives and husbands working while raising their sons, well... But it's not a movie for everyone. It's very slow, like an old person telling a story. My sister hated it and just gave up mid-movie to browse on Instagram until I was done with it. Ozu is a very grand name for Japanese cinema, and I think I will be back to watch something of his again.
