Never Let Me Go is a poignant and philosophical reflection of an alternate world where some children are raised to give away their life for humankind. For such a dramatic story on paper, the movie is almost void of any drama. Its measured pacing and faint focus of anything other than the three leads certainly bisects its viewers. This inertness embraces some and keeps others at an arm's length from fully immersing in the emotion. Sadly, I am part of the latter. Even then the movie is beautifully shot, well-acted, and deserves merit for an aching experience that keeps chipping away your heart.
