Primatologist Davis Okoye shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry mutates this gentle ape into a raging creature of enormous size. To make matters worse, it’s soon discovered there are other similarly altered animals. As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.

A movie based on a video game, while having a bad concept for a film, has the comedy and thrilling action that for better or for worst, gives at least some charm to the film.

I saw someone watching this during a recent flight and it looked at once frightening and interesting. The graphics (even from what I noticed briefly on the seat-back screens) looked impressive and the story clearly has a lot of action, but I'm assuming also some emotional aspects, since the main character is working to save an animal that was once close to him.

Every single cliche of an action/horror/adventure flick rolled up into one. The charisma of the two main characters carry the entire movie. This movie is not going to change your life, but it will keep you mildly amused for the most part.

From reading the plot, I found it sounding very familiar to "King Kong" . I'm not particularly interested in this film; but I find myself curious of its similarity to "King Kong".
