One of the first films that truly resonated with me and forced me to really think when watching a film. A great performance by Russell Crowe that shows the trajectory of someone born with a “gift”, how it benefits him, and also leads to huge problems on the way. It’s a great film when studying character development because it is constantly dealing with the main character’s mind, from his perspective, and we witness the constant changes in mental state that he endures and how it affects his outside life.

This film is actually one of the year's best so far. If you want to know what budding young relationships look like in America these days, this is the most pleasurable tutorial you'll ever see.

This movie has you roped in throughout it and reveals a huge surprise at the end that no one could anticipate. It will leave you in awe and it is even better because it is based on a true story. It is always interesting to learn about the fantastically intelligent and gifted people that actually exist.
