Full Metal Jacket
First half is a perfect story. Nothing to add there, just watch. On the contrary, the second half comes off as a generic war film with nothing really special to it, it doesn't even feel cohesive as the main character seems unaffected by the previous events. That said, it's Kubrick so it's amazingly shot all the way, but the sound and visuals of shots and explosions often feel off.
