強欲な一人娘キャリガン（キャシー・モリアーティ）が古びた屋敷を相続した。彼女は朽ち果てた屋敷に憤慨し、権利書を焼こうとするが、偶然にも屋敷に宝物が隠されていることを知る。彼女と腰巾着の男ディッブス（エリック・アイドル）は、屋敷に出没するゴーストに脅かされ、あの手この手で退治しようとするが、ことごとく失敗。そこでキャリガンは、心霊学者のジェームズ・ハーヴェイ博士（ビル・プルマン）に除霊を依頼する。ジェームズは最愛の妻を亡くして以来、世界で唯一の霊界精神治療医となっていた。彼は一人娘のキャット（クリスティナ・リッチ）を連れて屋敷を訪れるが、ストレッチ、ファッツォ、スティンキーという3人のゴーストは嫌がらせに励む。ところが、彼らの甥で淋しがり屋のキャスパーは、キャットこそ捜し求めていた友達だと胸ときめかし、彼女の前に姿を表した。

Casper was a childhood classic! The lovable and iconic friendly ghost was brought to life on the screen with his uncles in their haunted house and I think the story was absolutely beautiful as he does the unimaginable; falls in love with a human! The film is equally adventurous as it is magical and emotional! A must watch for any Casper fan.

This movie is just Halloween fun. An instant classic. There is nothing more enjoyable than a ghost who doesn't want to scare people and ends up befriending a human. I have only fond memories of watching this film as a kid.

Definitely a movie that is enjoyed by kids and adults. Casper is just a friendly ghost who means no harm but others don’t see it that way. In this movie you follow him on his adventure to befriending humans while his scary uncles interrupt a lot!

"Casper" is such an enjoyable film; though it may contain ghosts you can watch it anytime of the year. Casper the ghost is a friendly ghost who just wishes to befriend the humans; it isn't until anew father and daughter family movies into the house he and his brothers haunt that he gets to show his true personality and his dreams come true. One of my favorite Halloween films as a kid and even if you are not a kid I would recommend to watch.
