ダニー（ジョン・トラヴォルタ）とサンディ（オリヴィア・ニュートン・ジョン）は夏休みに避暑地の海岸で知り合い、夏中、愛を語り合い、夏が終わる頃、再会を信じながら別れを告げた。新学期と共にダニーはライデル高校の3年生になった。彼はこの高校の”Ｔ・バーズ”と呼ばれるグループのリーダーで髪にグリースを塗り黒い革ジャン、スリムなブルージーンでカッコよくきめていた。仲間はケニッキー（ジェフ・コナウェイ）、ドゥーディ（バリー・パール）、ソニー（マイケル・トゥッチ）、パッツィー（ケリー・ワード）。一方オーストラリアヘ帰ったサンディは、父親の仕事の関係でライデル高校に転校することになった。登校早々サンディは女性グループ”ピンク・レディース”のリッツォ（ストッカード・チャニング）、フレンチー（ディディ・コン）、ジャン（ジェミー・ドネリー）、マーティ（ダイナ・マノフ）と知り合った。彼女らはサンディの夏の恋の相手がダニーと聞いてびっくり。

This is a classic American musical that is worth watching. It has many catchy songs that still live today. It has been made into a Broadway musical and into many school plays. I enjoyed this musical for the characters and the setting in America in the 1950s.

This musical is amazing! One of my favorites. The casting was on point. All the songs are so good that it is normal to hear people singing the songs even today for leisure. The story is so refreshing as young love overcomes the pressure of others
