近未来。地球は謎の侵略者からの攻撃を受け、そのあまりの戦闘力の高さに人類はなすすべもなかった。ウィリアム・ケイジ少佐（トム・クルーズ）は決死の任務にあたるが、敵にダメージを負わせることなく戦死。しかし気付くと時は出撃前に戻っていた。少佐はタイムループに巻き込まれていた。幾度となく出撃と戦闘、死を繰り返すうちに、特殊部隊の軍人リタ・ヴラタスキ（エミリー・ブラント）が彼と同様にタイムループに巻き込まれていることを知る。戦いを繰り返しながら少佐は戦闘技術を磨いていき、二人はこのタイムループから抜け出す糸口を探る……。

This movie is a top pen pick of the last decade when it comes to smart action movies. I was shocked to see how this movie was commercially unsuccessful when I felt it had all the tools and things I wanted in this kind of movie. Amazing CGI and action, super smart plot, and characters you quickly begin to care for. Sad that it is so underrated.
