マルセイユ沖の海上に漂う一人の男（マット・デイモン）を漁船が救い上げるが、男は記憶喪失に。唯一の手がかりのチューリヒ相互銀行の貸し金庫を開け、パスポートに「ジェイソン・ボーン」との署名やパリ在住との記載を見つけ一安心するが、他5種類のパスポートに多額の札束、1丁の銃が入っており、自分は何者かと焦る。一方CIA 幹部・コンクリン（クリス・クーパー）の元にジェイソン・ボーンが生きていたとの報告が入り、直ちに抹殺指令を下す。追っ手に攻め入られたジェイソンは居合わせたマリー（フランカ・ポテンテ）にパリまで乗せるよう頼み、追っ手を撒くうちに二人は惹かれあう。

The first of the Bourne series, and arguably the best. Compared to the later films, this one builds up the mystery more and keeps it personal to Bourne which results in the audience being more invested in his story. I'm not to keen on the action in this film since it uses a lot of shaky-cam, but the rest of the film is pretty good.
